Michael created his first training program at age 18. Working in a cast iron foundry, he found that employees who had to repair the heat resistant lining on the melting furnaces were learning their job through trial and error. Michael suggested to management that training was needed for consistency and safety. His training career was born!
To date Michael has created over 100 different training courses and conducted more than 400 webinars and online meetings.
Michael brings thirty five plus years experience in the areas of online technologies, marketing strategy development and organizational effectiveness. Based in Aurora, Colorado, Michael’s industry experience includes Biotechnology, Construction Materials, Information Services, Nonprofit, Retail, Manufacturing, Financial Services, and Transportation.
Michael has extensively consulted in designing and structuring start up companies and new business strategies.
Prior to entering the online world, Michael’s last assignment was from 1998 to 2002 as Vice President and General Manager of Ward Transportation Services - one of those startups. As General Manager he had full profit and loss responsibility.
Michael began is career in manufacturing operations. He spent six years in Production Management and Quality Control at Central Foundry Division, General Motors. After completing a Master’s degree in 1975, he moved to Denver as Staff Member with the Mountain States Employer's Council (MSEC). At MSEC he provided Management and Organization Development services to MSEC's membership. He developed thirteen new courses and introduced new training techniques to the MSEC membership.
Michael spent three years as Corporate Employee Relations Director for Ideal Basic Industries and was Assistant Director of Human Resources for Information Handling Services. In 1986, he became a Principal in First Colorado Consulting Group, Inc., applying his OD and management experience to various manufacturing, service and information companies.
Michael has been involved in the community for many years. Michael was Board President of Community Alternatives, Inc. and an ongoing Board member of several associations. He has chaired many committees for the Colorado Human Resource Management Society and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development. He has conducted over 300 workshops, seminars and consulting assignments on topics concerning management, team effectiveness and performance improvement. In 1976 he founded the Rocky Mountain Organization Development Group ‑ a professional association of OD practitioners in the Denver Metro area.
Michael received his undergraduate degree in Production Management from Kettering University and a Master’s Degree in Organization Behavior from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
